This old Engi-style shrine was adored and the first shrine in Etchu (former Toyama pref.). This stately architecture has Sangensha-Nagare-Zukuri (a style of shrine architecture), shake reed roof, etc. such as styles of the Muromachi era. Guardian dog, which is civic designated cultural property, was made by complex mosaic of pine tree, upholstered, and has a sign of painting by lacquer and aleurone. The so-called “Nirami-Jishi” (Staring Lion) is dedicated at spring festival on April 18. According to legend, only its head moves slowly and expels evil spirits out of worshippers who are stared by the lion.
