Sojiji Temple
The Buddhist temple of Shingonshu sect. In 1609 when the monk, the 22nd Kaiyu opened this town, proposed to re-name Sekino to Takaoka in response to the load Toshinaga Maeda’s request, which name is related to one of the poem in the Chinese classic poem collection, “”Shikyo””. The temple’s treasure, Mokuzo-Senju-Kannon-Zazo(wooden multi-armed sitting Buddha statue) is a National Important Cultural Asset and opened to public on November 15 every year.
